Scope expands to acknowledge Alumni Association honorees

Welcome to the fall 2022 edition of The Honoree!

There is much to celebrate on the Acadia campus these days as we move ever so slowly out of the grip of the coronavirus pandemic into a chapter that is redefining how members of our community live, connect, communicate, and relate to one another.

Our shift to the production and delivery of digital rather than print products is a clear indication of our willingness to adapt to changing realities that will undoubtedly accrue considerable benefits in the future and position Acadia as an industry leader in environmental sustainability.

We have also expanded the scope of this publication to applaud not only our outstanding honorary degree recipients and the many contributions they make to society, but to include information and updates on Acadia Alumni Association awards and award recipients.

I believe it’s important to acknowledge excellence wherever it exists, and the myriad awards sponsored and supported by the Acadia Alumni Association shine a favourable light on those on campus and beyond who bring honour and prestige to the University through service, teaching excellence, and personal and academic achievement.

They illustrate people who shine brightly in our community and we are pleased to add this additional component to The Honoree. I hope you enjoy this edition and appreciate, as we do, the many gifts our honorary degree and Alumni Association award recipients offer to the Acadia community.

Yours sincerely,

Nancy Handrigan (’92)
